Max Original’s new local production was made entirely in Argentina exclusively for HBO Max.
WarnerMedia Latin America has just finished shooting Días de gallos, Max Original’s new local production made in Argentina exclusively for HBO Max, the new direct-to-consumer streaming platform that is scheduled to arrive in Latin America in June 2021. The series will premiere on a date to be announced.
Días de gallos adds to HBO Max’s local original content proposals in Latin America, featuring several creators and talents with authentically local and relevant voices. The platform will offer a completely new experience for audiences of all ages throughout the region, with a wide range of unique contents from various genres and formats, all available in the same place.
Días de gallos is a youth musical drama where three young people want to make a name for themselves in the competitive world of freestyle rap battles. The three protagonists will find themselves in the middle of a dangerous combination of friendship, love and sex, as they face some tough competitors and try to learn from their mistakes.
This new original production focuses on three areas involving the main characters, brought to life by Angela Torres, Ecko (Ignacio Matías Spallatti) and Tomás Wicz: the path to personal transformation, with real, relatable stories; the representation of a new, heterogeneous and genuine generation that is free from prejudice; and the cultural phenomenon of freestyle rap as a means for the protagonists to find their own way.
Días de gallos, one of WarnerMedia’s first exclusive productions in Latin America designed for this platform, is being co-produced with Zeppelin Studios Latin America. The series is comprised of ten 45-minute episodes, and features some major talents, including Angela Torres, Ignacio (Ecko) Spallatti, Tomás Wicz, Carlos Portaluppi, Delfina Chaves, Julieta Zylberberg, Paola Barrientos, Lautaro Delgado, Laura Cymer, Franco Rizzaro, y artistas del freestyle rap como Klan, Stuart, Roma, Cacha and Tata. The series was directed by Joaquín Cambre and written by Hernán Guerschuny, Lucas Jinkis, Joaquin Bonet and Sofia Wilhelmi.
This exclusive HBO Max series started shooting earlier this year under strict health & safety protocols recommended by the health authorities in order to protect the cast and crew.
