The agreement includes the development of new projects in a variety of genres for Paramount’s portfolio of brands, including Paramount+.

VIS, a division of Paramount, announced a First Look Deal with famed screenwriter Catharina Ledeboer to develop new scripted content, including series and films, in a variety of genres for the company’s portfolio of brands including Paramount+.

“We have enjoyed working with Catha over the years and wanted to develop even more projects together for our Paramount brands,” stated Federico Cuervo, Head of VIS Americas. “First Look Deals like this one are an integral part of solidifying our position as the leading Spanish-language content production studio.”

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to continue working with Paramount, where I have felt like family for ten years,” said Catharina Ledeboer. “I have many more stories to tell and could not think of a better home for them.”

Catharina Ledeboer is a renowned Ecuadorian screenwriter who studied film and television at the University of Miami. After several successes in her own country, like Emergencia and La Hechicera, Ledeboer moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a screenwriter for well-known American soap operas like One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Hollywood Heights.

Ledeboer always had her sights set on creating content for her favorite audience, children, and fulfilled her dream by developing several successful series for Nickelodeon Latin America, like Grachi and Toni la Chef. Ledeboer later adapted both series in English for Nickeldoeon in the US market, creating Every Witch Way and Talia in the Kitchen. Some of her more recent work includes Vikki RPM and two seasons of Nickelodeon’s hit musical series, Club 57, produced by VIS for Nickelodeon. Catha won a Produ Award and a Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award Mexico for Club 57 in 2021 and was also nominated for a Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award Mexico for Toni La Chef in 2015 and Club 57 in 2020.
