The Mexican telenovela will make its debut on the US Hispanic network on Monday, August 23 at 10:00pm.

Univision announced the premiere of La Desalmada (The Fiend), a powerful melodrama with a stellar cast that will bring love, passion, and unexpected plot twists to Univision’s primetime.

Televisa’s telenovela, starring superstars José Ron and Livia Brito, will premiere Monday, August 23, at 10 p.m. ET.

Produced by José Alberto El Güero Castro, the telenovela is the adaptation of Colombian telenovela La dama de Troya, and focuses on a woman who seeks vengeance to right the wrongs of the past and will run into a twist of fate.

The protagonist, Fernanda (Livia Brito), is on a mission to take revenge on a man who hurt her physically and emotionally. Unfortunately, her memories are not clear, causing her to be doubtful and make errors in judgment. When she meets Rafael (José Ron), she falls madly in love but mistakes him for the man who hurt her. As time goes by and her memory clears, she realizes that it was his father, not Rafael who ruined her life.

La Desalmada’s stellar cast includes, among others, Eduardo Santamarina, Marlene Favela, Marjorie de Sousa, Azela Robinson, Sergio Basáñez, Alberto Estrella, Ana Martin, Kimberly Dos Ramos, Gonzalo García Vivanco, Francisco Gattorno, Verónica Jaspeado, Laura Carmine, Daniel Elbittar, Ale García and Raúl Araiza.
