Following its success in Colombia on RCN last year, Azteca 7 will also premiere the classic telenovela once again.

Last year and in honor of Fernando Gaitán, RCN brought back its original telenovela Betty la fea, considered a classic and one of the most successful titles in the world.

And its rerun was more successful than expected, with ratings between 14 and 15 points, and repeatedly leading Colombia’s prime time.

And following that success, TV Azteca has decided to also bring back the hit telenovela.

The announcement was made by Alberto Ciurana himself, who confirmed the show will premiere on June 1 on Azteca 7.

Originally released in 1999 by RCN, Betty la fea has since been broadcast in more than 180 territories, dubbed into 25 languages, and adapted in 28 countries worldwide.

In Mexico, it aired for the first time on broadcast television in 2001 on Galavisión. It also aired on Las Estrellas and TV Azteca.

In fact, Televisa also adapted the series in 2006 under the title La fea mas bella and the leading role of Angélica Vale and Jaime Camil.
