Cecilia Presto, Head of Acquisitions at Canal 10 in Uruguay, spoke to TTV+ about the content she’s looking for in the international market.
TTVMedia, through its TTV+ platform and backed by ATV, presents its Buyers: What Are They Looking For? initiative to find out more about international buyers’ programming needs.
The interviews were conducted through the base of over 5,000 buyers registered on TTV+, a 24/7 online marketplace where buyers can look through catalogs from thousands of companies, and in which distributors can contact them to close businesses.
This time, we present Cecilia Presto, Head of Acquisitions at Canal 10 in Uruguay.
Could you introduce yourself and your company?
My name is Cecilia Presto and I’m the Head of Acquisitions at Canal 10 in Uruguay. Canal 10 has over 60 years of history and has been the leading network for a few years now in Uruguayan TV.
What type of content are you looking for?
After having successfully adapted world-class formats such as Got Talent, MasterChef, The Alphabet Game, Raid the Cage and more recently Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, we believe it’s time to find our next big format.
What does a production have to have in order to spark your interest?
Mainly what we’re looking for are strong stories, dramas, which are universal and have the ability to connect with our audience.
Any specific content that has caught your eye over the last 12 months?
This year I had the privilege of being a judge at The International Format Awards and therefore I had access to very interesting new formats, be it studio-game shows and reality formats. And now what we’ve been doing is tracking those new formats to see how they travel in the international market.
What type of content has worked best in your screen?
Entertainment in the general sense. It could be talent shows, game shows, quiz shows, general entertainment.
