TTV and Conecta Fiction to Offer Exclusive Keynote with Kate del Castillo

On September 1, TTV will present the opening keynote for Conecta Fiction Reboot, featuring an exclusive, in-depth interview with one of the most influential women in the Latin TV industry: actress and producer, Kate del Castillo.

Conecta Fiction and TTV are honored to announce their collaboration to present the inaugural keynote for the September issue of Conecta Fiction Reboot.

From her home in Los Angeles, Mexican actress and producer Kate del Castillo will speak exclusively with Rodrigo Ros, editor-in-chief of TTV, about her leading role in the production of fiction content from the US to the world.

Kate del Castillo is one of the most influential women in the Latin world. To her long experience as an actress (La reina del sur, Ingobernable, Bad Boys for Life), she has recently added her role as a producer, launching Cholawood Productions together with seasoned industry executive Carmen Cervantes and Emmy Award-winning journalist Jessica Maldonado.

Her main goal is to tell great stories and make quality content. But without forgetting the social background: the production company seeks to create new narratives that empower women (in front of and behind the camera) and the Latino community, moving away from stereotypes and cliches.

In September 2019, Kate del Castillo and her production company signed a first-look deal with Endemol Shine Boomdog for the development of fiction and non-fiction projects, both in English and Spanish.

Within that agreement are titles such as Dr. Shock and Slavery Inc., series based on novels by the successful Mexican writer Lydia Cacho; or the docuserie Tequileando, for which it will rely on Endemol Shine’s great experience in reality formats.

In addition, del Castillo is working together with Telemundo Global Studios on the premium series Armas de mujer, which will be the first fiction in Spanish for Peacock, NBCUniversal’s new streaming platform.

Added to this is the recent announcement by the Latin American star and Telemundo about the return of La Reina del Sur with its third season, which will be a co-production between Telemundo Global Studios and Netflix and will begin in early 2021. Once again, Kate del Castillo She will lead the series as Teresa Mendoza on the most successful super series in Telemundo history.
