Travesuras de la niña mala, María Félix and Marea Alta reach the Portuguese market with two local partners, RTP and SIC.

TelevisaUnivision announced two new deals in Portugal for ViX Original series. The deals include the acquisition of Travesuras de la niña mala and María Félix by RTP, the public service broadcasting organization, and Marea Alta, acquired by SIC, a Portuguese television network and media company, which runs several television channels.

Travesuras de la niña mala (Bad Girl) is a romantic series based on the acclaimed novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, which premiered exclusively on ViX with new weekly episodes in 2022. The series tells the epic love story between a nonconformist and adventurous young woman and Ricardo, a man trapped in a predictable routine whom she calls a good boy. Thanks to the bad girl, he slowly learns to get out of his comfort zone. These two characters’ lives will intertwine over forty years through reunions across Lima, Paris, Madrid, Tokyo, London, and more. The bad girl invites us to challenge our life on autopilot, transform ourselves, take more risks to feel alive and seek happiness through excitement. A premise that questions what life is without those exciting moments from the perspective of a character that lives life feeling immortal. Marea Alta, (High Tide), is the first ViX Original young adult thriller, produced, written, and directed by a team of award-winning creators, including Ariel Award-winning Spanish screenwriter Antón Goenechea (Luis Miguel, La Serie, Perdida); Spanish Goya Award-winning director Roger Gual (Las Chicas del Cable); and renowned directors Gabriel Mariño (Un Mundo Secreto) and Michelle Garza (Huesera). The cast features Cassandra Ciangherotti (Las Horas Contigo), Raúl Méndez (Paramédicos, Sense 8, Narcos), Antonio López (Narcos México, El Último Rey, El Señor de los Cielos), Susana Zabaleta, Fermín Martínez and Gustavo Sánchez Parra. This young adult thriller tells the story of the disappearance of Mia, a young cyber activist dedicated to denouncing the injustices around her and will shake the uneventful city of Ensenada to its foundation. Maria Felix is the authorized biographical series about María Félix, that follows the journey of one of the icons of Mexican cinema, whose influence is still felt across generations of women. Twenty years after her death, MARIA FÉLIX is the first series to portray the legendary actress and was produced by a team comprised mostly of women: produced by Carmen Armendáriz, directed by Mafer Suárez and written by Larissa Andrade, Alejandro Gerber, Tania Tinajero and Gabriela Rodríguez. The story stars Mexican actresses Sandra Echeverría (La Usurpadora, La Fuerza del Destino), Ximena Romo (Dime Cuándo Tú, Yago), and Abril Vergara, who portrays La Doña at different stages of her life.
