The premiere of The Mediapro Studio series will be on February 4.
Fiction series The Head will premiere exclusively on HBO Max in the US on February 4.
Produced in Spain by The Mediapro Studio in collaboration with Hulu Japan and HBO Asia, the new Max Original has an international cast and dialogue in English, Danish, Swedish and Spanish.
With this premiere, The Head continues its international expansion with a presence in more than 60 countries.
The premiere on HBO Max in the US joins the recently announced by Starz in the UK and Germany, and joins the rest of the territories where the series has premiered, including Japan, Southeast Asia, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, the Baltics, Russia, Brazil, Australia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Directed by Jorge Dorado (El Embacadero, Mindscape), nominated for the MIM Awards for this work, The Head is a survival thriller narrated in six 50-minute episodes and set in an isolated and inaccessible Polar Research Station in Antarctica. .
The series was born from the collaboration between Ran Tellem (Homeland), director of International Content Development at The Mediapro Studio, and Àlex and David Pastor (The Occupant, Carriers, The Last Days, Eternal), who have described it as «a thriller claustrophobic with a central mystery. The Pastor brothers co-wrote the script with Isaac Sastre.
