The event, organized by LAAPIP and TTVNews, and sponsored by LaLiga and ACE, will take place on Wednesday, July 13 at the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel.

On Wednesday, July 13, the twenty-sixth edition of the Anti-Piracy Summit will be held in Guatemala City, at the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel.

The event is organized by LAAPIP (Latin America Anti-Piracy & Intellectual Property Consulting), and TTVNews, and sponsored by LaLiga and the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).

In attendance will be Carlos Del Campo, Deputy Director to the Presidency of LaLiga, and Juan Rotger, Global Content Protection Manager of LaLiga; as well as Ana Sousa, Director, Strategic Relations of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).

Under the slogan “The protection of brands, sports and audiovisual rights in the digital environment”, the event will bring together local authorities and holders of intellectual property rights.

“One of the greatest challenges that exists in intellectual property is the protection of brands, products and audiovisual services, since they are counterfeited and illegally marketed on websites, marketplaces and apps without paying duties and taxes,” explained Francisco Escutia, CEO of LAAPIP.

And he added: “Guatemala has done an exceptional job. However, it is important to strengthen the regulatory framework, to generate legal and enforcement tools against illegal marketing in a digital environment that has no borders.”
