The Ecuadorian group will be the first international broadcaster to develop its own local version of the format from the Uruguayan channel’s studios.
Canal 4 continues to solidify its position as one of the leading producers of entertainment formats in Latin America with the launch of the first production service for its new international hub for Escape Perfecto (Raid the Cage).
Following the recent agreement reached with Sony Pictures Television to make Uruguay the regional hub for the Raid the Cage format, Teleamazonas Ecuador will be the first international broadcaster to produce its local version from Canal 4’s studios, using the set specially developed for the format and working alongside the Uruguayan channel’s technical, creative, and production teams.
The production represents a new step in the audiovisual services export strategy that Canal 4 has been developing in recent years, adding a second international hub for entertainment formats, in addition to the successful hub for Ahora Caigo (Still Standing).
This new production also strengthens the strategic relationship between Canal 4 and Teleamazonas, following the three seasons of Ahora Caigo Ecuador filmed in Uruguay, an alliance that continues to grow based on the trust built between the two companies.
Furthermore, this new project coincides with a particularly favorable time for the Uruguayan audiovisual industry, following the recent implementation of the 30% Tax Rebate for international productions, a tool that increases the country’s competitiveness as a destination for major productions and strengthens the growth of the audiovisual sector.
Javier Olivera, CEO of Canal 4, said: “Doing this first production from the international hub for Escape Perfecto proves our strategy of transforming Canal 4 into a regional production partner continues to yield results. Having built the capacity to produce top-tier formats and having leading channels in the region place their trust in us again confirms that Uruguay can compete at the highest level of the audiovisual industry.”
Mariano Mosca, Programming and International Development Manager at Canal 4, said: “With Teleamazonas, we have built a relationship based on results, trust, and shared knowledge. After three seasons of Ahora Caigo Ecuador, this new project represents a natural step in an alliance that continues to grow and demonstrates that our hubs can offer comprehensive production solutions with international standards.”
With this new project, Canal 4 continues to expand its international profile as a comprehensive producer of entertainment formats, combining infrastructure, technological development, creative talent, and operational capacity to offer turnkey solutions to broadcasters throughout the region.
The company has already produced more than a thousand episodes for markets such as Uruguay, Ecuador, Mexico, and the United States, consolidating a business model that positions Uruguay as an increasingly relevant center for international audiovisual production.
