This Monday Miptv Digital officially began with the second of The Wit’s “Fresh TV” conferences, this time dedicated to fiction. Production from Spain and Brazil stand out in the list, where the great trends are crime and retro feelings.

The new edition of Miptv Digital is taking place from Monday, April 12 until Friday, April 16, with conferences, showcases and networking sessions in digital format.

The event began its week with the second of The Wit’s Fresh TV conferences, who after revealing their selection of the freshest formats last Friday, now presented the most outstanding fiction series of the season.

Virginia Mouseler, CEO of the consultancy firm, began the conference by highlighting last year’s theme, “We may survive”, with series such as It’s a Sin by All3Media International.

And this year, the big trend among the chosen series is, on the one hand, serial killers and true crime stories, and on the other, the retro feeling and portraits of bygone eras, familiar to audiences.

In addition, the CEO highlighted Italian dramas within an almost entirely European list, where two productions from Spain and Latin America shine from the Hispanic world: Parot, the Spanish thriller, co-produced by RTVE, Amazon, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) and Onza Entertainment; and the Brazilian drama A Life to Die For, by Globo.
