South International Series Festival has unveiled the first highlights of its fourth edition, placing a strong emphasis on the audiovisual industry by introducing new initiatives for professionals while confirming the premiere of Isabel Coixet’s latest series as one of the flagship titles of its 2026 lineup.
Taking place from October 30 to November 4 in Cádiz, Spain, the festival continues its strategy of positioning itself as one of Europe’s leading events dedicated exclusively to television series, expanding both its public programming and its offering for producers, platforms, studios, distributors and creators.
One of the main additions this year is “In Conversations with,” a new discussion format featuring leading figures from the audiovisual business. The first confirmed guest is acclaimed filmmaker Isabel Coixet, who will also present Alguien debería prohibir los domingos por la tarde, her new eight-episode French series, which will premiere on SundanceTV as part of the festival’s Official Selection.
The Industry program will also feature British screenwriter Ronan Bennett, who will receive the festival’s 2026 International Honorary Award, alongside industry professionals including Javier Ruiz Caldera, Pol Rodríguez, and creators Carlos del Hoyo and Irene Bohoyo. They will take part in panels and roundtable discussions focused on the key challenges and opportunities currently shaping the scripted television business.
Ahead of the festival’s official opening, the event will also host Señoras y señoras, the stage show created by renowned audiovisual journalists María Guerra and Mariola Cubells, further expanding its parallel programming with a production closely connected to the television industry.
In just four editions, South International Series Festival has established itself as a leading meeting point for creators, production companies, streaming platforms, executives and industry professionals. The 2026 edition will once again combine premieres, masterclasses, audience events and a comprehensive industry program.
Casa de Iberoamérica will once again serve as the venue for the festival’s industry and press activities, while Teatro Falla and Teatro del Títere will host the rest of the official program. Organizers also confirmed that additional premieres, guests and professional activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
