Albrecht and Granier joined forces to launch Rubicon Global Media, whose objective as a firm is to promote Ibero-American IPs around the world

Rubicon Global Media, the new company of Chris Albrecht (ex-Legendary and Starz) and Jorge Granier (executive producer of Jane the Virgin) closed a strategic agreement with Secuoya Studios for the development and financing of select Rubicon projects.

As reported by Deadline, the details of the agreement are not known.

“Latin American content has an ever-expanding audience, and we are excited to transform that IP into high-quality, story-based content with global appeal,” commented Granier. “Our mission is to showcase the rich Latino heritage while creating shows and films that transcend borders, bridge cultures and captivate audiences.”

“There is an incredible opportunity for us to build an intellectual property company that unites Latin America, Spain and Hollywood,” Albrecht said. “Partnering with Secuoya allows us access to world-class production infrastructure and offers talent unique global engagement.”

James Costos, president of Secuoya Studios, commented that it is the “first time” that the company, located in Madrid and part of Secuoya Content Group, signs an agreement of the type: “I am delighted to partner with Chris and Jorge. It has always been my passion to build a bridge between Spain and the US through the power of storytelling”.

“I’m very excited to announce this partnership with industry veteran Chris Albrecht, the man behind a significant number of HBO shows, he served as Chairman and CEO. He went on to lead Starz and Legendary,” added Sergio Pizzolante, President of Distribution and Commercial at Secuoya Studios, on his LinkedIn profile.

“Also proud and happy to continue the journey elevating Latino content for global audiences with my longtime friend and partner Jorge Granier, executive producer of Jane the Virgin,” added the executive.

“Secuoya Studios will continue to expand into global content, regardless of language, and Chris and Jorge bring a wealth of knowledge, talent and industry relationships,” said Pizzolante.
