The biblical drama continues to add international screens, with its arrival now in Uruguay through Channel 10.
Released in 2018 through Record TV in Brazil, the biblical drama Jesus had an incredible “resurrection” in recent months in Latin America, with its premiere in several countries in the region.
Argentine channel Telefe was the one who started the trend and was followed by Chilevisión in Chile, Televisa in Mexico and, now, Channel 10 in Uruguay.
The Uruguayan channel announced in the last hours that Jesus will premiere next Tuesday, September 15 at 11:00 p.m. It will be broadcast from Tuesday to Thursday at that time.
Channel 10 of Uruguay had already broadcast in the past the biblical dramas Moisés and the 10 commandments and Joshua and the promised land.
Jesus stars Dudu Azevedo and Guilherme Winter, popular for their roles in Moses and the Ten Commandments.
The biblical production was written by Paula Richard, with the direction of Edgar Miranda and was filmed in different locations in Brazil and in Moroccan Hollywood -in Morocco-, where parts of Babel, Game of Thrones and Gladiator have been filmed, among other prestigious period productions, with a team that involved more than 350 people, including technicians and actors.
The story is based on the reception of the announcement that the son of God is on the way. Mary gives birth to the chosen one and, together with her husband Joseph, they try to raise Jesus with values and principles. The prophecy of the chosen man worries King Herod, who persecutes the family, forcing Mary and Joseph to have to raise Jesus as an ordinary young man, far from their mission.
