Produced by Fox Telecolombia, El capo was first premiered in 2009 in Colombia through RCN.

Since then, it has become a Colombian TV classic and has been broadcast in 75 countries, with translations in 12 languages.

It was also adapted in Mexico by Imagen Televisión.

It has a total of three seasons and 223 one-hour episodes.

It was written by Gustavo Bolívar and stars Marlon Moreno, Maria Adelaida Puerta, Katherine Vélez and Marcela Mar.

It tells the life of Pedro Pablo León Jaramillo, a great boss of the drug trafficking mafia. He recounts how he ascends from the humblest neighborhoods in Colombia to the black peaks of the criminal world.
