After a season that reached historical ratings and broke audience records, MTV Latin America confirms the new season of the successful and controversial reality show, Acapulco Shore.

The seventh season of the show will be recorded entirely in Mazatlán, the charming beach town on the Mexican Pacific coast famous for its beaches, cuisine, and nightlife.

The new season of Acapulco Shore will feature the participation of some of the original members of reality, as well as the debut of new members. Tiago Worcman SVP and Brand Head of Music & Entertainment Brands for ViacomCBS Networks Americas, made the announcement.

Worcman added: “The seventh season of Acapulco Shore is happening! Since its first installment, this reality show has pushed the limits of television and influenced youth pop culture in ways we could not have imagined. We are ready to take production to the next level and for the first time from the vibrant city of Mazatlan”.

In 2019, Acapulco Shore achieved its highest ratings in history, positioning itself as the most-watched season premiere in the history of the ‘Shore’ franchise, beating the Jersey Shore, Geordie Shore and Super Shore premieres.

The controversial reality show has positioned itself on dozens of occasions as one of the most commented topics in social networks in Latin America. MTV is also celebrating 2019 as its best year in ratings since 2011 in Mexico, in core demo P18-34, according to Kantar Ibope. Original local productions like Acapulco Shore, Resistiré, among others, were key to the brands’ outstanding performance.

Acapulco Shore follows a group of friends living the summer of their lives. It is one of the international versions of the successful Shore franchise, including Geordie Shore (UK), Floribama Shore (US), Gandía Shore (Spain), Super Shore (International), Warsaw Shore (Poland), and the original Jersey Shore (US)
