1. BBC Studios announces sales for First Love and Phone Dater
First Love, the entertainment format that follows people trying to figure out how their first partners’ lives turned out, was sold to Globo in Brazil.
In addition, Phone Dater, which shows blind dates where the couples can go through each other’s phones, was acquired by NRK in Norway and NHK in Japan.
2. Studiocanal closes multiple sales for its drama Paris Police
The French drama, a Canal+ original set in Paris during the Belle Époque, was sold to Sky in Germany, Radio Canada, Amediateka in Russia, RTP in Portugal, NOVA in Greece, M7 for the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania; and SBS in Australia.
3. ITV Studios announced the creation of a production label in Germany
Moritz Polter, the executive producer behind Sky’s Das Boot and Netflix’s Freud, will serve as ITV Studios’ partner for the new venture. Polter comes from Bavaria Fiction, where he was executive producer of international television series, and will report to Lisa Perrin, general manager of international production at ITV Studios, based in London.
4. Red Arrow Studios International appoints new CEO and Managing Director
Tim Gerhartz has been promoted to the position of President and CEO of Red Arrow Studios International, the distribution arm of Red Arrow Studios. He will be responsible for leading the company’s development, acquisitions, sales and marketing teams and will replace Joel Denton, Acting President of Red Arrow Studios International.
