Favorable weather and strong attendance once again set the scene for the start of the second day of Mipcom 2026, which continued with an agenda focused on emerging trends, short-form and vertical content, and AI, with conferences featuring major players such as YouTube, NBCU, A+E, Banijay and the BBC.
Among the premieres and screenings, highlights included the World Premiere of Queen Silvia, from Beta Film, and the K-Content Formats Showcase presented by the Korean delegation, one of the largest at the event.
At the Mip Creative Hub, GECA presented its special report, “Spanish Fiction 2026: Between New Stories and New Seasons“, led by its director, Gloria Saló, highlighting the growth of Spanish fiction in the international market, where annual volume increased by 83% between 2021 and 2026. In terms of premieres by country, between January and July of this year, Spain ranked seventh worldwide and third in Europe, with 30 titles.
And in a special moment, marking World With Women’s global day of mobilization, Mipcom showed its support for the movement by bringing together the women attending the market for a group photo on the steps of the Grand Auditorium at the Palais.

Fresh Content from Turkey
Turkish distributors continued to showcase their major content offerings, with dramas and formats that are winning over local audiences and preparing to reach screens around the world.
One of the day’s major announcements came from Global Agency, which exclusively revealed to ttv the first international adaptation of its newest format, The Greatest Duo. Following its official presentation on Sunday in Cannes, the singing competition format will launch in Italy in March 2027. “This time, we’ve brought a music competition format that combines reality and relationships through music. It’s something completely new for the genre. The first edition will launch in Italy in March and then, hopefully, the US will follow. It’s a great start, and I’m very happy to share this breaking news with you,” revealed İzzet Pinto, founder and CEO of Global Agency.
Taking advantage of all three companies’ presence in Cannes, Global Agency, TIMSBI Productions and Portuguese broadcaster SIC came together at Mipcom to celebrate the 2026 Venice TV Award won by Vitória, the local adaptation of hit Turkish drama Gülperi, in the Best Soap/Telenovela category. Originally produced by TIMSBI and distributed internationally by Global Agency, the drama found a new life in Portugal, where it premiered in prime time on SIC.
Following the launch of The Hatmaker the previous day, and ahead of filming in November, Eccho Rights announced the first international deal for O3 Medya’s Turkish drama, acquired by MBC Group for its OTT platform Shahid and linear channels across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). “For us, this is the news of the market. Our biggest launch is The Hatmaker, and the deal we’ve just closed with MBC is essential because the series will premiere in January. Securing a sale this early is a great success, and we’re delighted to announce it at Mipcom,” added Barbora Suster, Head of Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights.
Armed with three major titles enjoying strong audiences in Turkey, Kanal D International is celebrating multiple sales of Sins & Roses at Mipcom. First presented a year ago, the drama has secured agreements across Latin America and the Hispanic market, driven by the success of its first season. “Last year, we presented Sins & Roses at Mipcom when we only had five episodes. Clients really liked the story and its leading characters, but now, a year later, we’re finalizing the sales we began negotiating back then,” said Duda Perman, Latin America Sales Executive at Kanal D International.
A trio of new titles also leads MediaHub’s catalogue for this year’s market, where the company is presenting the dramas Roses, Close to You and Take My Hand. “We’re officially launching these three titles, along with additional productions from our international catalogues. The reception has been really great. We always make a big effort to meet as many clients as possible at every market, and our schedule is completely booked,” said Elif Turna, Sales & Business Development Manager at MediaHub.
And not to be outdone, three titles also lead OGM Universe’s offering in Cannes: Six of Us, The Fall of the King and its latest ratings success, Deep in Love, currently airing in Latin America in Panama and Honduras, with plans to reach additional territories soon, according to Mikaela Pérez, Sales Director for Latin America, the US and Iberia at OGM Universe. “We’re very excited about this second season. Its second episode, which aired last Friday, once again led its timeslot.”
Calinos Entertainment, meanwhile, announced the addition of Violet to its catalogue. The new Turkish daily drama, produced by Limon Yapım, is set to premiere on Show TV in Turkey in November 2026 and is being introduced to international buyers for the first time in Cannes.
News and Deals in Cannes
Undoubtedly one of the groups with the largest presence at Mipcom, with its traditional Banijay House outside the Palais des Festivals, Banijay Entertainment arrived on the Croisette even stronger following its merger with All3Media earlier this year. This was highlighted by Laurens Drillich, the recently appointed CEO of Banijay Latin America: “Today, we produce in the US Hispanic market, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. We’re looking at where we can produce more. Endemol Shine Boomdog, which operates in the US Hispanic market, Mexico and Colombia, is already the biggest unscripted production company in those territories, and Endemol Shine Brasil is also a major player in unscripted entertainment in Brazil. That’s our starting point, but there are many more possibilities. There’s YouTube, there’s digital content, there are films we’re making with A Fábrica in Rio de Janeiro, and there might also be opportunities in sports or live entertainment.”
From Spain, and because “Atresmedia’s series production machine never stops,” in the words of Miguel García Sánchez, International Sales Director at Atresmedia International Sales, the group crossed borders and arrived at Mipcom with its characteristic catalogue of Spanish fiction, highlighting productions such as Ágata y Lola, A la deriva and Trazos ocultos. “We have three main series, all exclusive productions that have either recently premiered or will premiere on atresplayer before moving to the group’s channels. They’re three completely different stories, from three different genres, but they have something in common: female empowerment,” García Sánchez explained.
Fellow Spanish company DeAPlaneta is also having a busy Mipcom. In addition to announcing a partnership with Tiger Studio on the first day of the market to launch a new international chapter for Pucca, the company also unveiled its new animated series, Magic Lilly. “Yesterday, we presented for the first time what I believe is DeAPlaneta’s most anticipated property in recent years. It’s a globally recognized brand that has had a huge following since it began as a book series. It’s Magic Lilly, originally known as Lilly the Witch,” said Carlos Biern, Content & Media Sales Director at DeAPlaneta Kids & Family.
To serve a market with diverse demands and limited budgets, ORF-Enterprise arrived in Cannes with a catalogue of science and nature documentaries that appeal to audiences around the world. “Our premium documentary catalogue is particularly strong this year. In a market that has experienced so many ups and downs, and in such a complex world, it’s a privilege to be able to offer stability to our buyers and partners. That’s also possible thanks to the producers and all the creative talent working with ORF who contribute their content to our distribution catalogue,” said Armin Luttenberger, Head of Content Sales International at ORF-Enterprise.
And when it comes to appealing to global audiences, few languages cross borders as easily as humor, something Just For Laughs knows firsthand. “The comedy market can be a little difficult sometimes, but the strength of our catalogue is our non-verbal content, which travels extremely well internationally. It doesn’t need dubbing or localization, and that’s an advantage not everyone has. It’s turnkey material that we can deliver to any broadcaster, and they can use it however they want,” explained Nicolas Holst-Roy, Sales Manager, International Distribution & Domestic Sales at JFL Distribution.
To reach these international audiences, dubbing and subtitling companies are indispensable partners, as Felix Motta, Head of Localization at LesCompany, explained during Mipcom, highlighting the company’s experience adapting content into different languages and for different markets, as well as its involvement in projects linked to the boom in Korean productions.
Other developments during the day included international sales of Baywatch and Police 24/7, announced by Fremantle; Nippon TV’s announcement of a South Korean remake of Life’s Punchline; and the agreement between Electric Entertainment and AMC Global Media for The Librarians: The Next Chapter, the deals for The Great Chimera annouced by Beta Film; among others.
As night fell, the Croisette once again dressed up for the occasion, hosting major celebrations and cocktail receptions organized by the distributors attending the market, bringing Mipcom 2026’s second day to a close.
