Today, Fremantle announces a new deal which sees Atresmedia Televisión acquire the rights to the word-guessing gameshow Password. The new adaptation of the format will be produced locally by Fremantle Spain. The format is a highlight in Fremantle’s entertainment slate at this year’s Mipcom.
Password was successfully revived in the US by NBC, starring Jimmy Fallon and hosted by Keke Palmer; with a stellar lineup of celebrity guests including: Yvette Nicole Brown, Tony Hale, Jon Hamm, Chelsea Handler, Heidi Klum, Joel McHale, Chrissy Metz, Martin Short, J.B. Smoove and Meghan Trainor. The refreshed series launched as the most-watched new unscripted series premiere of the summer across the US broadcast networks ahead of five other titles.
