Spanish group Mediapro announced the appointment of Julien Bergeaud to the role of General Director of Mediapro France, to supervise the roll out of the new French football network as of the 2020-2021 season.

Until now, he was responsible for the Discovery/Eurosport Group in France, and has a vast experience in creating and managing sports networks, as well as managing sports rights.

“The project of creating a French football network is fantastic and I’m very excited to join Mediapro to face this challenge, creating a network that’s as appealing and as accessible as possible for the largest number of people,” Bergeaud said.

The sports network that Mediapro will launch after the 2020 summer will offer uninterrupted programming for Ligue 1 and the second division, with nine games per day and eight for Ligue 2.

The network will be offered to all premium TV operators in France and provide the best in French football, becoming a referent for fans. In addition to live games, it will offer newscasts, debate shows and reports.

Mediapro will also produce the matches. The group currently produces 16 national leagues around the world.

Mediapro has been present in France since 2012, with professional teams that have developed networks like OneSoccer (Canada), Golf TV (USA), Porto TV (Portugal), or Real Madrid Tv, beIN Sports, beIn La Liga, LaLiga TV or GOL in Spain.
