The founder of Zeppelin Studio joins the fund to assist in “finding compelling stories, where the central theme is a universal conflict.”
Lucas Jinkis, the producer, content creator, social communicator and media entrepreneur with 30 years of industry experience, has just joined the advisory board of the film board of Baja California-based Phenomena Global fund Phenomena Global.
The firm is based in Hollywood and part of Phenomena’s goal is to bring different organizations to the forefront of film financing with a commitment to using film as a tool for social change and regional economic development.
The fund is dedicated to finding films that have international trajectory and quality to accompany their growth, seek co-production and co-financing models and help get them moving.
“I am very honored and excited by this call to collaborate as an advisor within the Phenomena Global committee,” Jinkis shared in a statement. “The company focuses on the US/Hollywood and Mexico, advising and investing in a network of Hollywood producers, directors, screenwriters and actors, while launching the ‘Baja Tax Credit’ in Baja California to encourage film production in this territory as the launch of a very important ‘rebate’ in Mexico. It also seeks to accompany prestigious independent projects in Latin America and Spain.”
“In this sense, my contribution will consist of finding compelling stories, where the central theme is a universal conflict, unique and original stories, important IPs and that bring ‘A-list’ talent,” he added.
Phenomena Global is a new media, entertainment and production company founded by Adrian Eng-Gastelum, former senior advisor to President Biden with more than 20 U.S. federal campaigns.
It is a fund aimed at financing and co-producing films and television projects with a focus on social impact.
“With this coming together of the power centers of Hollywood and D.C. comes awareness, education and momentum for change,” Eng-Gastelum expounded.
Adrian Eng-Gastelum has worked on more than 20 federal campaigns, but in joining this Hollywood effort he is looking to leverage his experience, alongside veteran global marketing strategist and Phenomena president Mike Tankel, who has contributed to creative campaigns for James Bond and the Twilight saga, who notes that Phenomenal’s mission is to leverage the reach and “lasting impact of movies to create real policy and social change.”
The team also includes Luisa Gómez de Silva, partner and head of global production: an experienced producer who has been involved in the production of more than 50 films and TV series such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, When All Is Lost, Fear The Walking Dead and Babel.
Also on the committee is Alejandro Uribe as co-chair of the Phenomena Film Board and founder of Exile, the largest Latino entertainment company in the U.S. and an investor in entertainment, media and major sports franchises, partnering with A-list stars on projects such as Benicio del Toro and Diego Luna.
