The content strategy developed by The Mediapro Studio for Mipcom focused on the English-speaking market, specifically the United States and Canada, presenting a catalog of new films, series, documentaries, and shows in English.
JC Acosta, Head of The Mediapro Studio US & Canada, told ttvnews that “content is the core and heart of the studio. This is not our first time entering this market; the talent recognizes the brand’s power. For us, it’s a luxury to have this.”
Acosta noted that The Mediapro Studio’s priority is talent and content. “We want to tell stories with a global profile, stories that have the power to create new business opportunities and different partnerships. The studio develops, produces, distributes, and is highly creative in what it does. To me, these are the tools to achieve success,” he said.
According to the Head of The Mediapro Studio US & Canada, their primary investment is – clearly – in content and IP. “We understand the industry’s challenges, but that’s where we have our competitive advantages, with the global infrastructure we have, from development to creatives and global production. We can be in all kinds of businesses.”
“We are aggressively entering The Mediapro library with entertainment formats. Today, we announced Catch Me if You Can, with Anthony Carbone as the showrunner, known for the worldwide hit The Floor. We’re also presenting our films, Mother Wolf, which is in post-production and will be released next year, and Is There No Place on Earth for Me?, which is currently being developed with John Turturro, who wrote, directs, and stars in it,” he added.
The new productions feature renowned talent, both in front of and behind the camera, globally recognized and awarded figures like Evan Katz, Juan José Campanella, Juliet McDaniel, John Turturro, Melissa Leo, and Anthony Carbone, among others.
