The Spanish series was the only winner from Ibero-America in this year’s list.
After several days of screenings, meetings, and celebrations of TV series and the people behind them, Canneseries revealed the winners of its 9th season.
The three Competition juries delivered their verdict and announced the winners on the stage of the Lumière Auditorium at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès during the Closing Ceremony this Tuesday, April 28.
Representing Ibero-America, Spanish series, I Always Sometimes, by Movistar Plus+ , created by Marta Bassols and Marta Loza, has been awarded Best Screenplay, written by the creators alongside Almudena Monzú.
I Always Sometimes with all the episodes available on the platform, is a Movistar Plus+ original series produced in collaboration with Suma Content, starring Ana Boga and David Menéndez. The cast also includes Paco Tous, Belén Ponce de León, Marta Bassols, María de Medeiros and Diane Guerrero.
This year’s Best Series award went to Alice and Steve, from the UK; Best Short-Form Series went to Boho, from Belgium; Best Documentary Series to The Deal with Iran, from Belgium; Best Performance went to Roosa Söderholm in Guts; the Special Special Interpretation Award went to the cast of Alice and Steve.
