The spy thriller will be the first Serbian series to air on TV in Puerto Rico.
Global independent content distributor GoQuest Media has finalised a deal with Telemundo for the spy thriller Civil Servant, the first Serbian series to air on TV in Puerto Rico.
Owned by NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a division of NBCUniversal, Telemundo has become the latest broadcaster to pick up the exclusive rights to the drama produced by Telekom Srbija and Film Danas. Season Three is currently on air on Serbia’s most watched TV channel Superstar TV.
Created and produced by Predrag Antonijevic (Savior, Dara of Jasenovac), directed by Miroslav Lekic and Ivan Zivkovic, the series stars Milan Marić, winner of the Shooting Stars Award (Berlinale) and the Chopard Talent Award (Moscow Film Festival).
Civil Servant (12 x 50’) is a gripping crime thriller that follows a young, ambitious Serbian Secret Service (BIA) agent, Lazar Stanojević (Milan Marić) as he negotiates the rules of the international spy game in the modern world. He quickly learns that all is not what it seems, and he is left fighting the distrust that he has for everything he thought to be true. Despite this, his sense of duty still makes him make dangerous decisions to try to protect his nation, his family, and himself. Will Lazar emerge from being a servant of the state to its ultimate protector?
Commenting on the deal Vivek Lath, Managing Director of GoQuest Media said: “We’re delighted to see the interest Civil Servant has received from Latin America. After its successful run on Globoplay and FlixLatino, Telemundo’s interest in this compelling drama is a firm nod to the global appeal of the show”.
