Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the company following the integration of Fubo with Hulu + Live TV, a transaction that made Disney the majority shareholder.
Fubo has appointed Alisa Bowen as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 10. She succeeds co-founder David Gandler, who is stepping down after leading the sports-first streaming platform for 11 years.
Bowen joins Fubo from Disney, where she has served as President of Disney+ since 2022. With nearly three decades of experience in the media industry, she has also held senior leadership positions at Hulu and ESPN+, and previously worked at News Corp, Dow Jones and Thomson Reuters.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the company following the integration of Fubo with Hulu + Live TV, a transaction that made Disney the majority shareholder and marked the beginning of a new chapter for the streaming TV service.
“Alisa is the ideal leader to guide Fubo through this next phase,” said Andy Bird, Chairman of the Board, highlighting her extensive experience in building streaming platforms, driving subscriber growth and scaling profitable businesses.
For her part, Bowen said the company is at “a defining moment” and emphasized that her priorities will be accelerating business growth, strengthening Fubo’s pay TV offering and continuing to enhance the customer experience.
As part of the leadership transition, David Gandler will also step down from Fubo’s Board of Directors. The company added that it expects to nominate Bowen to the board following its next annual shareholders meeting.
