The Promise, the hit Turkish drama distributed by Eccho Rights, adds a new international screen this month with its premiere on Nova in Spain.

The series will premiere on the Atresmedia channel next Monday, September 7, under the local title, El compromiso.

The drama from Turkish production company Karamel Yapim has garnered a massive global fanbase thanks to its captivating plot that explores themes such as love, trust, hope, revenge, and the institution of marriage.

The Promise tells the story of Reyhan, a humble, provincial girl who promises to marry the son of Hikmet, an old family friend, when he reveals he is terminally ill. Hikmet’s illness has worsened due to growing concerns about his legacy and the fate of the family fortune if he leaves it in the hands of his frivolous son, Emir, and Hikmet’s ambitious wife, Cavidan. The plot explores the complicated relationship between Reyhan and Emir, two young people who appear to be polar opposites from very different worlds, and the complex circumstances that bind them together.

The premiere episodes of The Promise will lead into the final stretch of Emanet on Nova, which reaches its grand finale next Friday, September 18. The series, starring young Yusuf and his humble maternal aunt Seher, is airing its final episodes on the leading women’s channel, leaving its mark as one of the channel’s most successful series, topping the ratings since its premiere in September 2024.
