Alshana has acquired Kara, Grapes of Love and Beneath the Surface; adding to ts slate of dramas from Eccho Rights, from whom it previously acquired Legacy, The Promise, Wounded Birds, My Home My Destiny, and Brave and Beautiful.
International distributor Eccho Rights has licensed three Turkish drama series – Kara, Grapes of Love and Beneath the Surface – to Alshana in Morocco, extending a long-standing partnership between the two companies and further strengthening the presence of Turkish drama on Moroccan screens.
Kara (Arak), produced by Most Production for Show TV, is a gritty revenge romance following Kara, a young thief from the backstreets of Istanbul who infiltrates the life of Zeynep – daughter of the family he once robbed – as love and vengeance collide. The series stars İlker Kaleli and Öykü Karayel.
Grapes of Love (Kader Bağları), produced by Süreç Film for NOW, is a sweeping romantic drama in which Kerem, heir to a prestigious wine-making family, falls for Sevda, a law student from humble beginnings – a love story that must overcome the deep divides of class and family expectation. The series stars Serkan Çayoğlu and Ayça Ayşin Turan.
Beneath the Surface (Sorgu), produced by Karga Seven Pictures as a TOD Original, is a taut crime thriller starring Hazal Kaya as a determined police officer whose investigation into her father’s mysterious death draws her ever closer – professionally and personally – to her colleague Metin, played by Çağlar Ertuğrul, as long-buried family secrets begin to surface.
The agreement builds on a well-established relationship between Eccho Rights and Alshana, which has previously acquired a broad slate of Turkish titles from the distributor, including Legacy, The Promise, Wounded Birds, My Home My Destiny and Brave and Beautiful, helping to establish Turkish drama as a firm favourite with Moroccan audiences.
