The platform took two of the three positions on the podium of the Parrot Analytics ranking of the most demanded digital series in the country. In addition, children’s series almost completely dominated the general ranking.
Thanks to its original series from giant franchises such as Star Wars or the MCU, Disney+ continues to gain ground among international audiences.
Between January 18 and 24, WandaVision, the recently released Disney+ series about the Scarlet Witch, led the demand for digital series in Ecuador, ranking first with 17 times more demand than the average series.
In addition, The Mandalorian, the platform’s Star Wars series, took third place on the list with 10.6 times more demand.
Netflix, meanwhile, managed to complete the podium in second place thanks to the new season of Cobra Kai, which registered 12.6 times more demand than the average series.
HBO Max’s Titans, in fifth place with 6.8 times more demand, and Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys in eighth place with 4.3 times more demand, stand as the only other non-Netflix series on the list.
Thus, Netflix completes the ranking with Stranger Things (fourth place, 9.3x), Bridgerton (sixth, 6.1x), Narcos (5.3x), The Umbrella Academy (4.0x) and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (tenth, 3.7x).
The other great trend among the demand for series in Ecuador this January was children’s content, which occupied 8 of the 10 positions in Parrot Analytics’ general ranking of most demanded series in the country.
Thus, SpongeBob leads the list with 18.8 times more demand than the average series, followed by the anime, Attack on Titan, in second place with 17.2 times more demand and PAW Patrol in third with 17.0 times more demand .
El payaso Plim Plim (14.9x) took fifth place, Peppa Pig sixth (14.9x), Naruto seventh (14.5x), Teen Titans eighth (14x) and Masha and the Bear ranked last ( 13.3x).
WandaVision in fourth place and La Rosa de Guadalupe (14.4x) in eighth, are the only productions for adults in the general ranking.
