The landmark deal with the production company includes, in addition to the two titles yet to be released, La ira del heredero, Las 7 Marías and Jesús.
Disney+ and Seriella have announced a landmark deal for a package of productions – the vast majority from 2026 and several yet to be released – which will bolster the platform’s catalogue of Brazilian originals.
The titles acquired by Disney+ include Ben-Hur and Amor en ruinas, both due to be released in the second half of the year, as well as other 2026 content such as La ira del heredero and Las 7 Marías , plus the acclaimed 2018 biblical series Jesús.
The agreement stipulates that all premieres will be available on Disney+ simultaneously with RecordTV, guaranteeing the public immediate access to the productions on both free-to-air TV and streaming. Furthermore, the contract reinforces the platform’s commitment to supporting and promoting Brazilian television drama, expanding its international visibility.
“Seriella is a partner we are very proud of. We firmly believe in the potential of its productions, which combine artistic quality, high technological potential, cultural relevance and popular appeal. This agreement strengthens our strategy of offering local content with global reach, celebrating Brazilian talent and bringing it to millions of subscribers,” said Cristiano Lima, Leading Content Strategy at The Walt Disney Company Brazil.
With this agreement, Disney+ “reaffirms its commitment to original content produced in Brazil, expanding the diversity of its catalogue and consolidating Seriella as a long-term strategic partner,” the production company noted in the press release. “The initiative reinforces the platform’s role as a bridge between national productions and international audiences, celebrating stories that move and inspire different generations.”
The titles covered by the agreement:
Ben-Hur (2026) – A 50-episode series, currently in production, set to premiere in September. A Brazilian blockbuster based on Lew Wallace’s classic, comprising 50 episodes. The series promises to revisit the epic saga with a contemporary perspective and high-quality production, featuring a Brazilian cast and spectacular settings. It will be the largest investment in a local series of all time.
Amor en Ruinas (2026) – A 35-episode series, scheduled to premiere on 20 July. Set in ancient Israel, the story of a man called to experience a love marked by trial and forgiveness, in a direct metaphor for the relationship between the divine and the people of Israel. The series explores themes such as emotional reconstruction, loyalty and redemption. The romance unfolds amidst the moral ruins of a society in decline, becoming a narrative of faith, hope and resilience.
La ira del heredero (2026) – A 20-episode series. An epic blockbuster: a wounded and resentful heir, Manasseh quietly breaks with the faith that shaped him. In Assyria, he learns that power is not inherited, but conquered. Subjected to brutal political and spiritual training, he discovers that ruling demands absolute control, sacrifice and a willingness to cross boundaries he never imagined.
Las 7 Marías (2026) – 4-episode miniseries. An intense and profound thriller that explores the early life of one of the most important women described in the biblical texts, her conflicts and the journey that transformed her into one of history’s most prominent figures. The miniseries follows the journey of Mary Magdalene, marked by injustice, lost loves, suffering, resentment and the impossible mission of carrying seven Marys within a single one.
Jesús (2018) – Already an established hit, it returns to the catalogue with a new release window, reaffirming the reach of Seriella’s biblical productions.
