The international series festival unveiled the stars and screenings that will be a part of its online event, which will take place alongside its in-person edition in Cannes.

A few days ahead of its new edition, which is taking place on October 8-13 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, the Canneseries organization unveiled new details about its online rendez-vous.

Running simultaneously with the in-person edition, the online event will feature international talents and upcoming series premieres, available only at canneseries.com.

LYNDA CARTER

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the creation of Wonder Woman, an exclusive talk with one of the most iconic actresses who has played the heroine on screen: Lynda Carter. She comes back on her career, her relationship to the legendary character and her active feminism. A discussion moderated by Nora Bouazzouni.

DAVID TENNANT

Flashback on the career of the incredible David Tennant, one of the most gifted British comedian of his generation, honoured in CANNESERIES with the screening of Around the World in 80 days, in which he plays the role of Phileas Fogg. From Doctor Who to Broadchurch, from Good Omens to Des and Staged, David Tennant has left his mark on the history of television. An exceptional talk with an exceptional actor, moderated by by Thomas Destouches.

DIEGO LUNA

What an incredible career Diego Luna has had since he was discovered 20 years ago with his mate Gael Garcia Bernal in Y tu mamá también by Alfonso Cuarón. Actor, producer, and director, Diego Luna has made a strong entrance in the world of television with Narcos: Mexico. Before becoming the star of the highly waited series Andor on Disney+, he tells us about his last creation Todo va a estar bien, that came out on Netflix last August. STEWART COPELAND

A unique talk with Stewart Copeland, one of the greatest drummers in history. Co-founder of The Police but also genius composer, Stewart Copeland also loves series (his soundtrack for Dead Like Me has been nominated for an Emmy Award). From his legendary studio, he tells us all about his incredible career and his vision of music, with great enthusiasm and contagious joy. Discussion moderated by Philippe Guedj.

MIKE WHITE

Creator of The White Lotus, hit series of the summer, Mike White is an unconventional screenwriter, director, actor and producer. From Dawson’s Creek to Freaks & Geeks and Enlightened, he has left his mark on each of those series. A close collaborator to Jack Black, he gives us juicy stories on The White Lotus and on his entire career. Discussion moderated by Renan Cros.

TOM ELLIS

The terrific actor behind Lucifer Morningstar, whose sixth and last season just came out on Netflix, gave us some of his time to talk about the hit series, his relationship with the audience, and his future projects in which we cannot wait to see him! Discussion moderated by Asma El Mardi.

AMERICAN RUST

ADAM PRICE

If international fiction is going so well, it’s mostly because of the Danish showrunner Adam Price’s talent. The exceptional success of the series Borgen, has proved that series can travel the world, whatever the language or nationality. Adam Price, a true pioneer also behind the series Ride upon the storm, talks with CANNESERIES as we await the next season of Borgen, soon on Netflix.

She has just finished filming Lord of the Rings and her next series, The Unlikely Murder, will come out on Netflix on November 5. As a creator, screenwriter, and director, the talented Samantha Biffot has more than one string to her bow. On the occasion of the screening of the first episode of her series Mami Wata at CANNESERIES, and in partnership with Le Lab Femmes de Cinéma, Samantha Biffot tells us with passion about her journey, the necessity of telling some stories, and her vision of feminism.

WHAT’S NEXT : DOPESICK

The eight-episode series stars Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, John Hoogenakker, with Kaitlyn Dever and Rosario Dawson. Guest stars include Phillipa Soo and Jake McDorman.

WHAT’S NEXT : RIDLEY ROAD

Inspired by the struggle of the 62 Group, a coalition from the Jewish community who stood up against rising neo-Nazism in post-war Britain, Ridley Road sees Vivien leaving her comfortable life in Manchester and starting to work with them when she realises that Jack, her missing boyfriend (played by Varey) has been badly injured. Vivien infiltrates the NSM, a neo-Nazi movement which is becoming increasingly prominent in London.
