Friday, March 20
The National Academy of TV Arts and Sciences announced the Daytime Emmy Awards have been postponed and the winners of the Emmy Kids Awards will be announced via social media on March 31.
Patria, the highly-anticipated original series from HBO Spain, postponed its premiere scheduled for May 17 in 62 countries, due to having to stop post-production.
Mediaset Spain announced it will reduce the number of live prime time shows and that its show Mujeres y hombres y viceversa is suspended as of Monday 23.
Canal 13 in Chile announced that after the episode aired on Thursday, March 19, Bailando por un sueño is stopping its production “until further notice”.
Atresmedia announced that due to a halt in production for Veneno, it will only premiere one episode of its new original series on Atresplayer Premium. The rest will come after the crisis.
Thursday, March 19
Turner Latin America and El Trece agreed to cancel filming for Pasapalabra in Argentina. The show will air until Friday, April 10.
The 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled to take place on March 12-23, has been canceled. The organization is looking for new dates, possibly in late June.
Sony Pictures joined Universal Pictures in the decision to skip a window for the premiere of Bloodshot. The film, which premiered in theaters on March 13, will make its debut on digital platforms on March 24.
Distribution platform Mena.TV announced it will make its subscription available for free.
Wednesday, March 18
The European Broadcasting Union decided to cancel this year’s Eurovision contents, which was set to take place from may 12 through the 16th in Rotterdam (Netherlands).
Telemundo confirmed it has stopped production on 100 Days to Fall in Love.
FOXTelecolombia confirmed it has stopped production on four series in Colombia and Mexico, including Opa Popa Dupa and La ciencia de lo absurdo, both for NatGeo.
Separadas, whose filming had been suspended this part Tuesday, will now be taken off the air due to the lack of episodes.

Chile’s Canal 13 announced it stopped production on its series La torre de Mabel, coproduced with AGTV. It also took preventive measures for Baliando por un sueño.
In Spain, RTVE temporarily canceled Operacion Triunfo 2020.
BBC in the UK stopped production on Peaky Blinders 6 and Line of Duty 6.
Netflix stopped production on The Witcher 2, the first big production to be cancelled in the UK.
The European Producers Club presented a 10-point plan to salvage the European audiovisual industry.
The State of Alarm became effective in Spain, forcing citizens to stay at home and only leave for emergencies.

Amazon stopped production on Lord of the Rings in New Zealand.
Hulu cancelled production on The Handmaid’s Tale 4, produced by MGM Television.
Saturday, March 14
Marvel Studios halted production for all of its Disney+ series, including Loki, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Cannes Film Festival announced it will wait until April 15 to determine if it will cancel its 2020 edition, set for May 12-23.
Friday, March 13
Spain’s Technical Union of Audiovisual and Cinema (TACEE) publishes a list of the productions canceled, which affects all major networks and platforms: Netflix (Élite, Hache, In From The Cold, El inocente, El vecino, Sky Rojo), Amazon Prime Video (El Cid, El internado, 3 caminos), Movistar+ (Hierro, Paraíso, Skam, Merlí Sapere Aude), RTVE (Acacias 38, Al pilón, Hit, Mercado Central, La caza. Tramuntana, Servir y proteger), Atresmedia (Amar es para siempre, Veneno) and Mediaset (La que se avecina, Señoras del (h)AMPA). The list includes other titles filmed in Spain, such as The Mallorca Files by the BBC and Glow & Darkness, without a screen.
The ONSeries Lisboa organization changes the dates for the event’s first edition, which will take place on September 28 and 29, 2020 in Lisbon.
Hollywood studios announce that the May LA Screenings will not be held. Hours later, the cancellation of the LA Screenings Independents is also made official.
