The Turkish drama first reached the region with its premiere in Panama in 2020, and has since then landed in Mexico, Peru and Paraguay, and it will soon premiere in Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Chile.

Forbidden Fruit, distributed by Calinos Entertainment and produced by Medyapim, is now in its 5th season and is a proven success, with high and steady ratings on FOX Turkey. And the series’ success continues to spread all over Latin America.

The successful run began at the end of 2020, when the series arrived at prime time on TVN Panama, immediately captivating its growing audience. To date, the fifth season of Forbidden Fruit is projected to continue very soon in the channel’s programming.

Mexico became the second country to present it as Pecado Original, the name with which it became known on Imagen Televisión, occupying a prominent time slot on its billboard.

“After a few seasons, most long-running Turkish dramas lack new life to keep the audience engaged, but Forbidden Fruit keeps finding new ways to reinvent itself, season after season, which is why it continues to perform as well as it does,” said Erick Pulido Head of Content and Programming at Imagen Television.

The success of the series continued to spread until this year it reached Latina Peru and Telefuturo Paraguay.

Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Chile, for now, will be the next countries in the region that will include Forbidden Fruit within their programming grid.

“Forbidden Fruit has been the revelation in the Turkish series of the last year in Panama. It has represented an increase in a younger audience for us, and also a loyalty reinforcement of older audiences. The mix of classic drama with modern elements, and the charisma of its female leads, make this one of the best titles in recent years for our TV channel,” said Hector Arosemena Director, Content and Marketing Director of TVN Panama.

“Forbidden Fruit came to conquer the Latina Television soap opera block with a story that narrates how wealth, business, and power can completely change people’s lives. After an intense launch campaign at the level of marketing, public relations, promotions, and programmatic strategy; Fruto Prohibido is positioned in the afternoon as the most-watched soap opera at the national level,” said Luis Guillermo Camacho, Head of Content and Programming at Latina Television.

“While 2021 was a great year for Forbidden Fruit in Turkey and all continents where it was sold, we are certain that 2022 will be even a greater year for Forbidden Fruit,” said Duda Rodrigues, LatAm Sales Director at Calinos Entertainment.

“This 2022 is the year of Forbidden Fruit”, added Jose Luis Gascue EVP Head of WW Sales at Calinos Entertainment. “The show will be broadcasted on, the most prestigious channels in Latam, whose programming performances are always a reference for success”.
