He previously held the title of Vendor and Procurement Specialist.
Berkay “Berk” Tartici has been promoted to the newly created position of Manager of Global Strategy within The Kitchen’s international language teams.
He previously held the title of Vendor and Procurement Specialist. Based in Turkey/Turkiye, Berk is the first one logged in every day, while The Kitchen’s team in Los Angeles, ends the cycle.
“Berk’s knowledge and commitment to excellence, his communications skills with our teams and our clients, and his understanding of the localization process is exceptional,” Ken Lorber, President/CEO of The Kitchen explained.
“Yes,” Berkay added, “being available at all times, is how we truly remain international. We work within all time zones. Someone from our group is always available to give our clients assurance, guidance and results. That’s the type of commitment to the localization process that made me want to be a part of The Kitchen.”
Berkay began his localization journey as a literary translator, later gaining experience in sales, strategic partnerships, development of strategies, customer success, and the tech sector. Driven by his passion for literature, culture and language, Berkay studied translation and interpretation at Turkiye’s Hacettepe University.
Berk has worked with networks, broadcasters, OTT platforms and AI tech teams across global markets, giving him a cutting edge start in the localization industry. “He has an outstanding understanding of language, media and technology, and how they intersect, providing The Kitchen with additional tools and skills needed to be on top of this ever-changing industry,” added Lorber.
“It’s an exciting business, and over the years I have learned that analyzing how a sentence breathes and shifts across languages is the perfect foundation for what I do today – helping global content travel seamlessly across technology, media, and streaming platforms,” reflects Berk .
Being fluent in French, English and Turkish, has expanded Berkay’s horizons in both his personal and professional life. Berk’s ability to manage and execute translations flawlessly between multiple languages is a skill that he has been able to generously share through his work.
Working in Turkey/Turkiye and having grown up there, Berkay has witnessed the growth of the local industry. Growing up, most of the content he consumed had been dubbed, giving him a major advantage now that he is on the opposite end of the localization process. “Turkish content has grown exponentially in global popularity. This country has created a fast-moving ecosystem, shaping Turkey/Turkiye to be a major consumer of global content, as well as a powerhouse exporter,” added Berk.
“AI may be a part of our future. Personally, together with our operation teams, I look forward to designing systems and strategies where cutting-edge technology, efficiency and create talent don’t clash, but actually supercharge one another,” concluded Berkay speaking about what he hopes to accomplish in his new leadership role.
