Banijay Productions Germany is bringing the French reality format to SAT.1 and JOYN.

Media and entertainment group, Banijay Entertainment, today announces the first international adaptation of hit reality series The Detective Club, with Banijay Productions Germany producing a local version (Club der Reality Detektive) for SAT.1 and JOYN.

Originally created by B Prod, part of Banijay France, The Detective Club is a strategic game of deduction and deceit, where reality stars collect clues and face interrogations to to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of the host’s dog, Coco. Acting as amateur detectives, celebrities must identify the three culprits hidden amongst them, searching for clues and interrogating fellow contestants. At the end of each episode, players must name their prime suspect, with the guilty contestants having the power to secretly eliminate the sharpest detectives. The format was an instant hit on W9, becoming the channel’s best reality launch since April 2024. It also generated buzz across social media, attracting more than 44 million views on W9’s TikTok channel, with its most popular clip reaching 4.6 million views.
