Writer and Producer Behind Netflix’s Tijuana and HBO Max’s Colisión Strengthens Banijay Americas’ Spanish-Language Content Strategy.
A Fábrica Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, part of Banijay Americas, today announces the strategic appointment of internationally acclaimed producer, screenwriter, and director, Max Zunino, as Executive Director of Development.
In his new role, Zunino will lead scripted development, collaborating closely with Santiago Zapata and the wider team to drive creative strategy, focusing on original content for global Hispanic audiences.
Zunino brings extensive experience across premium television and film, having crafted dramas, comedies, and thrillers for major broadcasters and streaming platforms across Latin America and beyond. His expertise in developing culturally resonant stories with international appeal aligns with A Fábrica’s focus on local storytelling with global reach.
He recently directed the critically acclaimed series Colisión for HBO Max and El Dentista for ViX. As a screenwriter, Zunino has contributed to successful Spanish-language series like Netflix’s boundary-pushing Tijuana, Amazon Prime Video’s Freddy Larios, and Gaumont’s innovative Los Últimos Análogos.

Throughout his career, Zunino has garnered numerous awards and accolades across both television and film. His debut feature film, Los Bañistas, which he wrote, directed, and produced, earned the prestigious FIPRESCI Prize at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma in Montreal. It was also awarded the Guerrero Press Award at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), among other prestigious honors.
Led by Luiz Noronha, A Faìbrica Mexico & US Hispanic, is part of Mexico City-based EndemolShine Boomdog. Established in 2025, it has numerous projects in development, including collaboration with Leonardo Padroìn through a partnership announced last year.
