In the seven years that this event has occurred, more than 15 finalist series have come to life, been produced, or are about to hit the screens.
Conecta Fiction & Entertainment opened the call for the eighth edition of its annual meeting, which will take place from June 18 to 21, 2024, where they will present the Series Co-production Development Award, valued at €50,000. The event aims to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and strengthen independent producers.
The Palacio de Congresos El Greco in Toledo, Castilla la Mancha, will host the event, recognized for promoting a series of co-productions between Europe and the Americas; this annual meeting will offer a detailed overview of the industries of Brazil and Portugal, announced as Focus Countries 2024.
The event’s program will offer essential keys and tools to position oneself in a competitive market that embraces technology, providing valuable insights and unique opportunities for those in the entertainment industry. The call for entries is open on their website.
The opening of its pitching sessions for projects starts from February 13 until April 5, 2024, with staggered and different closings depending on the category. Last year, a total of 311 projects were received for the five international categories from 30 other countries, a significant increase over the previous year.
The five international calls for projects for 2024 are:
Pitch Copro Series: for fiction projects in the development stage that have or are looking for production partners.
Pitch High-End Series: fiction series projects with a high budget and elements that guarantee success and quality.
Pitch Music Series: for those fiction series projects in which music has a particular relevance.
Pitch Docu-drama: focused on documentary series projects with fiction elements;
Pitch Feelgood Formats: for television entertainment program formats in the development stage.

That’s why we are extremely proud to be able to collaborate with the Council of Europe, home of Eurimages, with this significant award and channel it through our project pitching sessions.”
This award is part of the Pilot Program for Series Co-Productions, an initiative of the Council of Europe, home of Eurimages. It involves a non-refundable grant dedicated to cover expenses during the project’s development phase. A formal agreement between the winning project and the Council of Europe will govern the use of this grant.
