Dos Vidas and La Promesa were sold to a paid platform for the entire region, while Hermanas and Acacias 38 will arrive in Mexico, and El Grand Prix in Uruguay.

RTVE attended the latest edition of the Mipcom global market in Cannes, the worlds largest gathering of television and media professionals, bringing along its new fiction productions, the best entertainment and great documentaries, plus its wide range of international channels for the whole family and the video-on-demand platform RTVE Play+.

RTVE’s daily series were an enormous success at the media market: The international Emmy Award-nominated Dos Vidas and top-rated series La Promesa have been sold to a major on-demand subscription platform available throughout Latin America. On the other hand, US executives have also shown great interest in them. Seis Hermanas and Acacias 38 were acquired for free-to-air broadcast in Vietnam, Lithuania, Latvia and Mexico and video-on-demand in the USA. La Moderna, a series that explores the storylines between the employees and clients of a distinguished tea room in 1930s Madrid, has aroused the interest of buyers from the Middle East, Greece, Russia, CIS, Colombia, Poland, South Korea, Lithuania and China.

El Grand Prix, the quintessential summer TV classic, in which two villages from different parts of Spain go head-to-head, ready to have fun and involve all the families at home, will be broadcast in Uruguay thanks to an agreement with a major media outlet in the country.

A wide range of titles from RTVE’s catalogue – including Skorzeny. The Most Dangerous Man in Europe, A World For Julius, Los Caminos de Santiago and Pipper en Ruta- have been sold for free-to-air broadcasting in Slovakia. This last series on Pipper the travelling dog is being considered for purchase by media outlets in China, Greece, USA and Portugal.

The Department of Time will be available in Eastern Europe on pay-per-view and subscription on demand. The comedy series Sabuesos has been sold in Japan and will be available in the US on an ad-supported on-demand TV service.

The historical classic Réquiem por Granada and the documentary 10,000 Days will be available in the Middle East and North Africa on pay-per-view and on demand. Ser o no Ser has been sold for broadcast in several countries in Europe and America, and Cuéntame cómo pasó, which premières its final season in Spain, will be shown in its entirety in Finland.

Operación Barrio Inglés, a suspense set in 1940s Huelva against the backdrop of the Second World War, has aroused the interest of executives from different audiovisual companies in the United States, Japan, Greece, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Albania, Russia and CIS. Media in France, the United States and Japan are considering purchasing Detective Touré. On the other hand, a Japanese media outlet has shown interest in acquiring the new youth series Área 34, a series about a group of influencers who are kidnapped to participate in a mysterious project that nobody knows anything about.

4 Estrellas, a contemporary, romantic, family comedy in which, as in life, everything happens at the worst possible moment, has captured the interest of executives from Greece, Russia, CIS, Albania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Colombia, the Baltic countries, Romania and China.

Los Pilares del Tiempo, a documentary series that makes an X-rays of Spain’s most impressive monuments, is being considered for purchase in the United States, South Korea and China.

The children’s series Los Argonautas was nominated for the Innovation awards at Mipcom and is being considered by companies in Russia, Brazil, Colombia and China for broadcast in those countries.

La Caza has been sold for adaptation in France. Agreements are also being finalised for the sale of the Estoy Vivo and Ser o no ser formats for the United States, while the sale of the iFamily and Yrreal formats is under negotiation.

RTVE has joined Prime Video and Telekom Srbija in the international television adaptation of Cicatriz, the best seller by Juan Gómez-Jurado, which was presented at Mipcom in the presence of María Jesús Pérez, the corporations international commercial director, with the participation of representatives from Plano a Plano, Asacha and Dopamine.

This song contest performed by duos formed blindly by singers of two different generations, a Chinese format adapted in Spain with great success by RTVE, has been presented as an example of a successful format adaptation in this international market.
