Priya Dogra, president of WarnerMedia for EMEA, announced during Series Mania that Spain and the Nordic countries will be the first European territories to have the new OTT platform.

While just over a month ago Pascal Desroches, CFO of AT&T, announced HBO Max would not launch in Europe until 2022, the arrival of the WarnerMedia platform seems to be imminent, at least in Spain.

Because during Series Mania, Priya Dogra, president of WarnerMedia for EMEA, announced that Spain and the Nordic countries will be the first European territories to have the new OTT platform. And that the launch will be during this fall.

As detailed by the executive, after Spain and the Nordics, HBO Max will be launched in Portugal, Central Europe and Eastern Europe.

“Europe is a high priority for us. We are already in the US and Latin America. We are very happy with the growth we are seeing in those markets. Europe is complicated, but exciting,” she pointed out.

HBO Max launched in May 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic in the US. In Latin America it was launched last June in 39 countries.

Between both territories, the OTT platform already has 67 million global subscribers.

The plan, they have repeated several times, is to be in 190 countries, with forecasts of having between 120 and 150 million subscribers by 2025.
