The fifth edition of Conecta Fiction began this Monday, June 28 in virtual format, which will run until next Thursday, July 1. The event will also have a second part in a hybrid format between September 13 and 17, in Pamplona (Spain).
The event began this Monday with its opening ceremony, which was held online. It served to not only present the program for the event, but to announce the finalist projects of the different pitch sessions of the event.
Regarding the call for their main category, Pitch Copro Series, they highlighted that a total of 139 projects were received this year, 30% more than a year ago. Of these, 89 came from Europe and 50 from America.
In total, companies from 24 countries submitted ideas; thriller / crime / mystery was the most popular genre, with 61 projects. The historical followed with 19 and science fiction with 15.
The countries that presented the most projects were Spain, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, France and the United Kingdom. The majority format is series of 8 episodes of one commercial hour followed by miniseries of 6 episodes.
