The Brazilian network reached a 15.7 rating in São Paulo with the premiere of its latest super biblical production.
Record TV in Brazil premiered its new biblical super production on Tuesday: Genesis. And the result was a success for the channel, which achieved its best premiere in 5 years, according to UOL.
As reported by the Brazilian website, the series measured 15.7 rating points in São Paulo, thus conquering the second place in the night’s audience race.
This is the best premiere for one of Record’s series since 2016, with the premiere of A Promised Land.
Genesis is the ninth biblical blockbuster on TV, following Joseph of Egypt, Moses and the 10 Commandments, Joshua and the Promised Land, The Rich and Lazarus, Revelation, Jesus, and Jezebel, in addition to the miniseries Los milagros de Jesús.
It was written by Emilio Boechat and is directed by Edgard Miranda. It stars Oscar Magrini, Camila Rodrigues, André Bankoff, and Igor Rickli. Additionally, Carlo Porto and Juliana Boller play Adam and Eve.
The series adapts the first book of the Old Testament and tells the story from the creation of the world to the trajectory of Joseph of Egypt.
It will have a total of 150 episodes.
