Amazon Prime Video announced this Thursday during a panel focused on its sports content two new Spanish originals, as well as the renewal of Fernando for a second season.
Amazon Prime Video held a virtual event focused on its sports content in Spain and took the opportunity to announce two new originals.
The first is a documentary film about Spain’s victory in the World Cup in South Africa, produced by the Royal Spanish Football Federation in collaboration with TBS.
The unnamed documentary will feature exclusive images of one of the most exciting and memorable moments in the history of Spanish sport.
Its premiere will be this year, marking the tenth anniversary of the conquest of the “Red”.
The second announcement was another docuseries, this time made with the Spanish idol Rafa Nadal.
The project is titled Rafa Nadal Academy and will premiere in 2021. The series will present the training methodology of the future champions of the academy throughout its four episodes and will allow to see the evolution of some of the most promising players of the academy during Four months of training, following the training methodology that has given Rafa Nadal such good results in his sports career.
This project created by Rafa Nadal in 2016 was born with the essential objective of educating through sport using academic programs that positively affect human development and the comprehensive training of young players who come to Manacor, from all over the world.
It will have testimonies from the people closest to the tennis player, as well as some people in charge of the sports center. The director of the Academy Toni Nadal, the former world number 1 Carlos Moya or Carlos Costa (Top 10 of the ATP) will be some of the proper names that will break down the main aspects of this unique training methodology in the world.
The episodes of the docuseries can also be seen through Movistar, producer of the documentary.
Finally, Amazon Prime Video confirmed the second season of the Amazon Exclusive docuserie, Fernando, a renewal that arrives even before its premiere, scheduled for September 25 worldwide.
The new episodes of the production will show the journey of the Spanish world champion to return to Formula 1.
It will be released next year and, like the first, will be produced by The Mediapro Studio. It will have four episodes.
The series has Javier Méndez, Laura Fernández Espeso and Bernat Elías as executive producers and is directed by Arnau Monras and Jaume García.
These three announcements were also joined by two release dates: the Amazon Exclusive Carolina Marín docuserie: I can because I think I can (Buendía Estudios) will arrive on October 9 in more than 240 countries; and the second season of Six Dreams (LaLiga and The Mediapro Studio) will follow suit on October 2.
