The hit drama series, produced by Surec Film and aired on Star TV in Turkey, has been acquired by Mediaset Italy.

International distributor Eccho Rights has closed the first deal for Turkish series Sisterhood, produced by Surec Film, selling it to Mediaset in Italy.

The powerful drama evolves around three young very different women, who find out that they are sisters just before tragedy strikes and changes their lives forever.

Ipek is finalizing her wedding plans when she is stunned to receive an anonymous letter telling her she has two sisters she never knew. Coming to terms with the fact that she was adopted, she invites her two newfound siblings to the ceremony. During their wedding night, her husband violently attacks Ipek and she calls her sisters for help. In a desperate defense attempt, the young women kill Tekin and suddenly find themselves at the center of a murder cover-up.

The show premiered last year on Star TV in Turkey to great results.

“Turkish Drama is becoming increasingly popular in Italy and we are excited to close our first deal for this emotional story. It balances the central love story and the surrounding family drama in a perfect way,” said Nicola Söderlund, Managing Partner at Eccho Rights.
