Felix Motta, Head of Localization at LesCompany, highlighted the company’s expertise in adapting international content and its work with Korean productions at Mipcom.

As audiovisual content continues to expand into new markets and platforms, localization remains a key component of international distribution. Against this backdrop, LesCompany aims to broaden its reach through services covering everything from long-running dramas and telenovelas to vertical formats, documentaries, songs, and accessibility solutions such as audio description.

Felix Motta, Head of Localization at LesCompany, explained the company’s approach during Mipcom, highlighting its experience adapting content for different languages and markets, as well as its involvement in projects linked to the growing popularity of Korean productions.

Participating in the Cannes market for the second consecutive year, the executive highlighted the positive reception the company has received and the opportunities created by growing demand for this type of content. “Korean dramas are this year’s big boom. We’re really pleased about it, especially since we’ve been working with Korean content for quite some time,” he said.

With around 14 years of professional experience in the sector, LesCompany specializes in the linguistic adaptation of productions that present a range of challenges, from the complexity of the original language to the specific requirements of each target market. “We know the typical issues that can arise when a title or production is difficult to translate or the source language is particularly complex,” Motta explained.

“We can work with children’s content, short vertical formats, which have been very much in vogue lately, and long-form productions such as Turkish and Russian telenovelas. We’ve also worked on documentaries and songs. We work with all kinds of material,” the executive detailed.

Another area in which LesCompany is expanding its services is audio description, an accessibility tool that enables people with visual impairments to follow the relevant visual elements of a production through narrated descriptions. “We’ve also recently become involved in audio description,” Motta said, specifically highlighting its application on platforms such as Netflix.
