The company unveiled the 2026 edition of its annual report, analyzing linear TV, BVOD and streaming consumption across more than 100 markets worldwide. For the first time, the study is available through an interactive dashboard on the OneGlance platform.

Glance, the TV and video market intelligence company, has unveiled the 2026 edition of its annual One TV Year in the World Edition report, bringing together audience data for live TV, broadcaster video-on-demand (BVOD) and streaming platforms across more than 100 territories worldwide.

For the first time, the report is available through the OneGlance platform as an interactive dashboard, allowing users to explore viewing trends by country, market and time period.

Among its key findings, the report reveals that global TV viewing averaged 2 hours and 13 minutes per day in 2025, down five minutes compared to 2024.

Scripted programming remained the world’s most-watched genre, driven largely by local productions. According to the report, 70% of the top-performing scripted titles across the markets analyzed were locally produced.

In the US, Watson and Tracker ranked as the leading scripted series, while in the UK, Call the Midwife and Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell topped the charts.

Entertainment remained the second-largest contributor to TV viewing, with reality competition formats accounting for 48% of the top entertainment titles. Long-running global franchises continue to perform strongly, with Dancing with the Stars ranking first in ten countries and The Masked Singer appearing among the top entertainment shows in nine markets.

Live events also continued to drive audiences. The report highlights the US Super Bowl, which reached a record 130 million viewers, up 8% year-over-year, largely driven by Tubi’s addition as a streaming distributor of the event.

Glance also notes that the current geopolitical environment has boosted demand for factual programming. Across Europe, news channels increased their audience share by 0.6 percentage points during 2025.

“Television viewing worldwide continues to be strong and is evolving rapidly. With this edition, we wanted to provide our clients not only with the most comprehensive report on global TV viewing trends, but also with a platform that makes the data genuinely easy to explore and act upon,” said Frédéric Vaulpré, Senior Vice President at Glance.

A key addition to this year’s report is the new Total Video section, which measures the share of broadcasters and streaming platforms within total video consumption by country, providing a broader perspective that extends beyond linear television.

In addition to the interactive dashboard, users can download detailed BVOD data and country-specific reports covering channel performance, top programs, leading sports events, average viewing time and a three-year historical overview of each market.
