The executive, with two decades of experience at BBC Studios, steps into the role immediately and will make her debut at Series Mania next week in Lille.
ITV Studios has appointed Jemma Harvey as Executive Vice President of Sales and Distribution for EMEA and the United Kingdom, the company confirmed Thursday from London. Harvey will report directly to Tom Clark, EVP of Global Sales and Commercial Strategy, and steps into the position after leading the EMEA catalog sales team on an interim basis for the past five months.
In her new role, Harvey will oversee the sales teams across the region and drive the strategic distribution of a catalog spanning more than 100,000 hours of content. Her responsibilities will include managing relationships with global streaming platforms and local broadcasters, developing co-production opportunities with key clients, and maximizing the value of the portfolio across both digital and linear platforms.
An Executive With a Track Record
Harvey joined ITV Studios in July 2022 as SVP of Global Scripted Content, and steadily expanded her responsibilities in international co-production strategy. Notable deals from that period include Winter with PBS Masterpiece, Ludwig and Code of Silence with BritBox, The Forsytes with Channel 5, and agreements for The Hack with Arte and Ludwig with ZDF across the European market.
Before ITV, Harvey spent 20 years at BBC Studios, where she rose to SVP of Sales and Co-Productions for the Americas, based in New York. Her tenure at the British public broadcaster included high-profile co-production deals such as I May Destroy You (HBO), His Dark Materials (HBO), and The End of the F***ing World (Netflix), as well as a nine-figure multi-year output deal with HBO Max and package agreements with Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix.
Reactions to the Announcement
“She has already proven herself to be an exceptional commercial leader, and her deep expertise in international financing, co-productions, and sales makes her the ideal candidate for this role,” said Tom Clark in confirming the appointment.
Harvey, for her part, said her priorities will be strengthening partnerships with broadcasters and platforms, expanding co-production opportunities, and maximizing the value of content across the region — all at a time when the UK and EMEA markets are “evolving rapidly.”
Her first public appearance in the new role will be at Series Mania, Europe’s leading television festival, taking place next week in Lille.
