Mithy el explorador: Guatemala Joins the Series as the Fourth Season of Mithy el explorador.

This year, the recently concluded Mithy el explorador: Guatemala (8 x 7′) joins the series as the fourth season of Mithy el explorador.

It is a co-production of the original format by the Basque production company Baleuko, which this time has partnered with Guatemala TV.

The series is aimed at children aged 4 to 9 and addresses topics such as the biosphere, nature, environmental education, and professions, teaching sustainable development in a fun way.

Mithy el explorador has three previous seasons of 30 x 4′ (linear episodes) and 30 x 5.5′ (interactive episodes).

In Mithy el explorador: Guatemala (8 x 7′), viewers visit locations throughout the Central American country, including Antigua, Tikal, Semuc Champey, Flores Island, San Juan La Laguna, and Sumpango. Through a lens of curiosity, wonder, and excitement, the little elf Mithy, along with children, explores the hidden corners and customs of Guatemala.

The vibrant real-life settings and the charming 3D character make this format a program designed for family viewing, encouraging co-viewing, discovery, and entertainment in a playful way.

Through its local broadcast with co-producer Guatemala TV, the series contributes to the recognition of the country’s identity and culture, as well as the promotion of national tourism. It will be broadcast in Spanish, but also has versions in Basque and neutral Spanish. An English version, like previous seasons of Mithy, will be available soon.

The title joins Gookapi’s international sales and distribution catalog, alongside the other IPs in the elf universe (Iratxoak): Liz’s Creative Workshop, Pintxo Against Climate Change, Secret Songs of the Elves, Hur Learns, and Ezki the Storyteller.

Synopsis: Mithy the elf is a great explorer, so he’s grabbed his backpack and… traveled to Guatemala! We’ll experience an amazing adventure with Mithy and explore Guatemala to discover its animals, nature, festivals, stories, and secret places. The adventure is about to begin!

“At Gookapi, we believe in the potential of adding this season and the available episodes of the Mithy el explorador property to the catalog for international distribution, as well as opening doors to future co-productions with other countries that will allow us to bring Mithy to more places around the world and confirm new seasons for different regions, platforms, and screens,” says Nella Gomis, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Gookapi.

“We are also very excited to finally have this new season of Mithy finished and to add it to our sales catalog, which consists of six original IPs within the Duendes (Iratxoak) universe, and to bring this project to the international market. Furthermore, we are open to future co-productions with other Latin American countries to boost content creation across different regions of the world,” adds Nella Gomis, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Gookapi.
