The executive will lead the production company’s strategy, focusing on original formats and television productions.
The production company Casta Diva Pictures, commonly called Casta Diva and part of the Casta Diva Group, announces the appointment of Massimo Righini as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, he will oversee the company’s strategy, particularly emphasizing the Entertainment unit and TV projects.
Righini will report directly to Casta Diva Pictures CEO Fabio Nesi, adding this responsibility to his existing role as Creative Director.
“I am thrilled about the challenges awaiting me in this new role,” said Massimo Righini, the newly appointed COO of Casta Diva Pictures. “These days, we are witnessing the fruits of years of hard work, and we have many projects in store for the future. In 2025, Casta Diva Pictures will enter the realm of fiction with a TV movie about singer-songwriter Franco Battiato, followed by an 8-episode series for an OTT platform. Additionally, we are collaborating with a leading film production company on a major feature film project. We place no limits on our creativity!.”
Casta Diva Pictures continues to embrace entertainment comprehensively, maintaining ongoing collaborations with Discovery and Rai. Recent successes include the program La Porta Magica, currently airing on Rai 2, which new projects for late-night and prime-time slots will follow.
Massimo Righini joined Casta Diva Pictures in early 2021 to develop the Entertainment unit, aiming to create new original formats and identify the best existing ones to present to the Italian and international broadcasting markets and OTT platforms.
Righini brings extensive experience in television as a writer, curator, and creative producer. He has adapted 18 international formats for Italy, including the first two seasons of Il Collegio for Rai 2, Matrimonio a Prima Vista for Real Time, 7 Year Switch for Fox, La Talpa for Italia 1, Bake Off for Real Time, This Time Next Year for Discovery, and Guess My Age. He has co-created numerous original formats such as Singing in the Car for Sky Uno, Camionisti in Trattoria, Turisti per Dmax, and Cortesie per l’Auto for Discovery, Me Contro Te Show for Disney, and Celebration for Rai 1.
In 2019, with Discovery, he became the first Italian producer to oversee the creation of an original entertainment format, airing simultaneously on D-Max channels alongside six other European producers.
