This new collaboration marks a significant step forward in both parties’ shared commitment to promote and safeguard Integrity in Global Sport.
The Sport Integrity Week is entering the fifth edition and will, from 11-17 November, involving SIGA Members and Committed Supporters from around the World.
Argentina is the latest country to join a list of global stages, including, but not limited to Brazil, USA, Portugal, Sweden, UK, Ghana, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
The Olé Sports Summit will gather 150+ speakers, representing 40+ nationalities, with more than 5’000 delegates, 200 sports organizations and 250 companies confirmed to participate. As part of this collaboration, SIGA will lead Sport Integrity content and assemble a leading group of experts to address the most pressing governance and integrity challenges facing Sport, in Argentina and the wider Latin America, as well as the most apposite reforms, with emphasis on the implementation of SIGA’s Universal Standards and Independent Rating and Verification System (SIRVS) across the whole Latin America’s football. Expert content will be secured from the participation of Vinícius Sousa (Senior Director, Institutional Relations & Strategic Partnerships, SIGA LATIN AMERICA); Andres Martin Paton Urich (Legal Advisor, AFA); Roberto Armelin, (ESG, Risks and Compliance Director, São Paulo FC); and Pablo Perel (Coordinator of Gender and Human Rights Department, Racing Club).
This partnership underscores SIGA’s commitment to uniting global leaders in Sport to promote Integrity and raise awareness on the challenges and opportunities facing contemporary Sport. With the participation of some of the world’s most prominent Sport organizations, businesses and thought leaders, the Buenos Aires’ event will highlight the role of Sport Integrity as a cornerstone for sustainable growth.
Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Co-Founder & Global CEO of SIGA and Chairman & CEO of SIGA LATIN AMERICA, welcomed the Sports Summit as a new strategic partnership: “I commend the Sports Summit for joining SIGA’s global movement and supporting our call to action. This collaboration allows us to bring the Sport Integrity conversation to the forefront in Argentina and the wider Latin America, and engage directly with an increasing number of stakeholders who share our vision for a credible, transparent and sustainable Sporting Ecosystem. It follows the Sport Integrity Forum in São Paulo, on 11 November, and showcases our relentless commitment to globally spread the much-needed adoption of the SIGA Universal Standards on Sport Integrity and our Independent Rating and Verification System (SIRVS). If we really want to see Sport free from any form of unethical, illicit and criminal activity, governed and operated under the highest integrity standards, make no mistake about it: this is the best way to do it.”
Sebastian Lateulade, President & Founder, Sports Summit, emphasized the relevance of adding SIGA as an Integrity Partner for their Argentinean event, and added: “We are pleased to announce that the Sports Summit is joining the global initiative Sport Integrity Week, which aims to promote a strong commitment to best practices and transparency across all sports organizations. As part of our ongoing efforts to raise standards in the sports industry, we will organize an activity with SIGA dedicated to Good Governance at Olé Sports Summit Argentina. We believe that integrity is the foundation of fair sport, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that all sports stakeholders – athletes, coaches, and leaders – operate within the highest ethical standards. Together, we can build a brighter future for our sports community.”
