Nippon TV’s exciting format will come to the Italian screen under the name Vip al Tappeto, hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi. The show, currently in production, will air in 2025 on Prime Video Italia.

Nippon TV announced that one of Italy’s leading production companies, Blu Yazmine, acquired the Italian rights to produce Nippon TV’s hit unscripted format Red Carpet Survival. The Italian production was shot near Milan and will air on Prime Video Italia in 2025.

Red Carpet Survival is a high-energy game show in which contestants act as bodyguards who must escort a famous VIP to safety. Their mission is to make the VIP stay on the red carpet that stretches to their destination no matter what; this means suffering physical blows and surviving a series of crazy traps, such as huge explosions, robot attacks, and even real crocodiles secretly placed in their path. The format was created and produced by Nippon TV and has stellar ratings.

Sayako Aoki, Format Sales, and Licensing, Nippon TV, commented that the Italian version of Red Carpet Survival, titled Vip al Tappeto, is currently in production and already promises to be hilarious. “Popular Italian celebrities will be the VIPs of the red carpet and will challenge incredible obstacles created in a unique Italian setting near Milan.”

The Nippon TV executive said he was very happy to see their combined ideas come to life to entertain Italian viewers. “This proves once again that this high-energy format is a perfect fit for those looking for crazy Japanese game shows or, more simply, a chance to laugh out loud,” he concluded.
