TelevisaUnivision announced the licensing of Como dice el dicho to Ecuavisa, the leading free-to-air television network in Ecuador.
The successful series broadcasted in Mexico and the United States for Hispanics in free-to-air television, with 13 uninterrupted seasons since 2011, premiered on the Ecuavisa’s television screen on April 9, and is also available on Ecuavisa.com and the EcuavisaPlay app. In the first week of its release, Como dice el dicho was the number one network of all television during the 3:30 p.m. hour with a 34.9% share among total ABC Housewives (source Kantar Ibope Media).
“Como dice el dicho not only aligns perfectly with Ecuavisa’s purpose, but also contributes greatly to a much larger goal of making Ecuadorian families stronger,” commented Karina Medina, Programming Manager at Ecuavisa.
Como dice el dicho tells different stories inspired by the teachings of popular sayings that connect with the deepest emotions of the whole family. Each episode narrates a different story, which always begins at the El Dicho café, owned by Don Tomás. The characters, inspired by real people, face day-to-day issues that are resolved in a positive way.
